We are committed to serving each family and child in a personal and specialized fashion to help sow the seeds for a lifelong love of learning. We will achieve this by recognizing each child’s strengths and the family’s goals; combine them with our safe, loving, nurturing, learning environment to meet and exceed each family's expectation.
Co-founder, Executive Director
Learning Hive, a community of family owned, licensed early learning, afterschool and summer camp programs blends the safe cozy environment of a home with a unique atmosphere that depicts a structured educational essence. This is the edge that Learning Hive offers its families. We strongly believe in the traditional African proverb "it takes a village to raise a child". We partner with our parents to provide the necessary development of the whole child.
We use our own unique curriculum that is consistent with the developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood. Each educational suite at Learning Hive follows a daily schedule – we adhere to the school of thought that children thrive in a structured and somewhat predictable environment. Our daily schedules allow children to set routines that foster caring bonds with other children and their teachers. This stems from the stability the schedules provide. The daily schedules are flexible enough to adapt to each child’s individual needs yet still offering a sense of consistency and security.
Why the name 'Learning Hive'?
Children are energetic by nature - like bees! And like bees, they need the structure of a hive to help them achieve their very best. That's exactly what Learning Hive does - help children harness their natural energy and creativity and translate it into success.

Meet the Executive Director & Co-Founder
My name is Rheitta Ohene-Amoako, originally from Ghana, West Africa but call Gwinnett county home. I am a wife, mother of five wonderful children-all Archer High graduates-GO TIGERS! My career started in retail/human resource management, but I’ve always had a passion for children. Throughout the years I have served in Children's ministry and still do.
In 2004 I took a leap of faith, resigned from my corporate job and started my childcare program as a licensed in-home provider while working on my Early Childhood degree. I did that successfully for four years. I went on to work in some of the best independent, franchise and corporate owned childcare centers in Atlanta.
In 2013, I ventured out again and re-opened Learning Hive. My goal is to take all the knowledge I have gained over the years to create an environment where children can thrive and reach their highest potential. Our programs are an extension of the home. I believe in the saying "It takes a village to raise a child” Every adult in a child’s life plays an integral role in ensuring the child is safe, loved and given every opportunity to reach their fullest potential. I believe in educating the whole child.
Learning Hive stands for excellence and I hold myself and my team accountable for creating a healthy, wholesome educational environment for every family we have the privilege of serving. I appreciate your decision in choosing Learning Hive to provide your childcare and enrichment needs. It is privilege we do not take lightly and we work hard everyday to continue to maintain the trust you place in us.
Thank you and welcome to our Learning Hive family!
